During the Appointment
Following an initial, thorough examination of your condition, a full hands on assessment with functional capacity testing is performed by a University qualified and Australian Registered Physiotherapist, to establish an accurate diagnosis.
Treatments will involve education on your condition and we will structure a suitable treatment plan through various treatment modalities to relieve pain, restore function, flexibility and strength. Skills and techniques used may include:
- Mobilisations of joints and neural tissue
- Soft tissue massage
- Postural correction
- Exercises and muscle rehabilitation.
Your Physiotherapist will teach you techniques to use at home to manage your problem, which may include exercise and preventative measures. You are invited to ask any questions you may have. If you have any problems or questions between or after visits, you can call or email our practice.
We know your time is valuable which is why your entire consultation is spent one-on-one with your physiotherapist. We do not divide your time with other clients, or leave you on any machines, as we believe the best care comes with specialised focused attention on you.
Our physiotherapists pride themselves on punctuality and run on time, but occasionally there are unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We apologise if the beginning of your session is delayed.
We allocate 40 minutes for an initial consultation, and 30 minutes for a follow-up consultation.
What should I bring?
- Clothes you can move in
- All relevant medical information such as your imaging and doctors reports
- Your health fund card or insurance company details for compensable patients
- A desire to know exactly what your problem is and how you can fix it
If you are unable to attend, we require 24 hours’ notice so that we may allocate that time to another patient who may need it.
We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may arise from time to time, in which case our team will consider the circumstances of cancelling an appointment and use some discretion in charging a cancellation fee.
Cancellations made with less than 4 business hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee of $50.
Failure to attend an appointment or providing less than 2 business hours’ notice will also incur a $50 fee.
